I found out about persecution of atheists and anti-religion people through CHURCH AND STATE magazine. Here's the article:

Why Jesus? Why indeed?

Those of you who know me, know I'm not an atheist. The world is just too fucked up for there not to be some evil malevolence behind it all.  I believe God is a 9 foot tall woman in a black leather bikini... with a whip.

Still, I have a certain admiration for the atheist groups and their war on religious stupidity.

Not only self-proclaimed, but...

Right on the heels of the "self-proclaimed athiest," comes THE ATHEIST PREACHER. I can imagine the old atheist revival meeting, the atheist snake handlers.

Self-Proclaimed Self-Proclaimer

I found this in a fit of shredding. It's from 1967, and why I have it, I don't know. But, I love the idea of SELF-PROCLAIMED atheist. What other kind is there? A Church-Accused atheist? A don't-ask-don't-tell atheist?
