Private Enterprise? Yeah, Right

So often you hear the corporate lackeys... er... to be politically correct: the conservatives... squawk about how much better private enterprise is than the government. How the government fucks shit up, but private enterprise gets us through just fine. Yeah right,

Keep your knees tight, or bring along some Saran Wrap.

Another Milestone

This is from THE PROGRESSIVE magazine. It's in an article on how students are the new indentured servants. They start life with a huge debt, and so become slaves to banks right from the get go. And now... well, check it out!

Not quite the 99%

So website magazine runs an ad for a web service that will tell you WHO visited your website. Of course we want every site we visit to know our names, addresses, sexual orientation and political leanings, don't we?

Thomas Jefferson... No wonder he's banned

Awhile back I read that the notorious Texas board of education was purging Jefferson from the curriculum because he was the author of the famous "Wall of Separation between church and state" dictum. This from a liquor store catalog. In case you can't read it, that's $18,600 for a single bottle of whiskey.:

Why Bother Voting, They'll Do It For You

With the Republicans in several states taking the vote away from the poor by bringing back the Poll Tax. (They do it by requiring Photo ID to vote. The only acceptable ID is state issued--- you guessed it-- you have to pay for it!) There are plenty of new ways to steal elections. To be fair, it's not only the Republicans who do the stealing... only MOSTLY the Republicans.
