It's thinking like this....

The Utner Reader reports on an article in Science News. That article says that where parents of kids felt they lived in "a dangerous neighborhood," the kids tended to be overweight. Parents who felt they lived in "a safe neighborhood" had kids closer to normal. The reason, according to the study, is that parents in "dangerous neighborhoods" kept their kids at home, where they ate a lot. The kids in safe neighboods went out to play, and therefore ate less.

Er... could it be that the kids in dangerous neighborhoods had poor diets, living off fast food and other lousy cheap food? Maybe safe parents can afford the salads and health foods that keep people thin? Naw, couldn't be that. CRIME is the criminal, not economics, right America?

You EXPECT Americans to be dumb... but SCIENCE NEWS? Come on!

Hmmm, how could this work?

PC World wrote the following about a scam where malware gets into your computer, then demands a "fine" for viewing child pornography on the internet. Seems to me it would only work if a large number of people actually VIEW child porn on the internet. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? ... Nah! Not at all.

Hmmm, Will There Be a Telethon?

I just saw this in the paper. A new disease. I'm waiting for the colored ribbon (what color? Pink is already taken) and the charity with a big name actor/actress coming out as a victim of the disease... sorry a SURVIVOR of the disease. (If you have trouble reading the whole thing, click on it and open the pic in a new tab.)

New Information Says....

Of course the sponsors of this research are the Coffee Producers Consortium, and the Canola Growers Association. Both of whom have contributed generously to Robert J. Davis's research budget for this book. I don't know any of this for sure... just an.. er... educated guess.

The Future US President

I wanna know who Putin thinks he is? Romney?

Cheap Targets Dept.

Every wonder why the U.S. propaganda machine targets Iran and Syria, but not, say the home country of the guys who flew into the World Trade Towers?

Market to China... today!

Ah free trade, ain't it wonderful. Who needs a middle class in the US... to do what, buy i-Phones? (made in China anyway), when there is a GIANT middle class developing in China?
