To those who say reports about secret government experiments, and World Trade Center attacks are "just conspiracy theory." Easy to dismiss... check out this TINY article from a NY Times of yesteryear.

Those Pesky Taxes
The Nokia company pays 49% of all taxes in Finland. Smaller corporations pay most of the rest. In the US, corporations complain that the taxes are too high, while many, like GE, pay NO TAXES!!!

How To Increase Longevity
I read an interview with Michael Bloomberg where he brags about increasing the longevity of New Yorkers. I don't have the exact quote, but it was a self-promoting piece implying that his anti-smoking laws and green spaces improved the health of New Yorkers.
Bullshit!
What improved the health of New Yorkers was throwing out the poor and making this a city for rich people. Rich people live longer than poor people... by a lot. These statistics (from The Nation about Baltimore) show just how much.
Bullshit!

On the Same Page
These two articles were on the same page of an NYC local paper. Any relation?
Nah, can't be.
Two questions... 1. Will the DMV allow an IDF license plate?
And if it were a Hassid being threatened by an anti-Jewish nut, do you think it'd take the cops 45 minutes to respond?

PC in 1990 by Mike Royko
Just found this. I cut it out in 1990... it was an omen of things to come.
In case you don't know Mike Royko... the great Chicago journalist... find out. He was a God among newspaper men. He stopped writing when he died. That's a shame.

It's Only A Survey... It's only a Survey
So, let me see if I've got this right. First you dismiss an ad on Goggle because you don't like it, and don't want to buy from that company Then Google pops up a "survey" so you can tell 'em why you didn't like it. Then they redo the ad to market to you better. Then they show you an ad for the same company... in a more YOU-friendly version. Right?

You Could Write about this in 1980!
Yeah the article is prejudiced, narrow-minded, conservative, etc... but at least they were writing about it! In TIME MAGAZINE no less. I doubt you could get away with it in 2014! There are so many taboos, that this is far from being the last.
I know phrases like "as in any propaganda campaign," and "an ingenuous editorial denying the article was advocating anything" are about as journalisticly impartial as the New York Post, but still, they wrote about it.

Acting Funny? Take a Pill!
This is from a great book called Blaming The Brain This page shows how bigPharm markets the same pill, sometimes under different names, as a treatment for a variety of "mental illnesses" including depression and... smoking. (I shit you not.) It also shows the proof that these "illnesses" are chemical based, is actually, not proof, but a money saving move by the drug companies.

Tat for tit? Not the Same!
I just found this among my papers. I have no idea where it came from (though it seems likely to come from a San Diego newspaper). I also have no idea WHEN it comes from, though the yellowing says it's not recent. But it expresses an idea so well, that... well, you'll see

Americans Love Their Jobs
Ah, this from WEBSITE magazine.
Nothing like HAPPY WORKERS, huh? Get it? Most people HATE their jobs! They can only take 'em for 4 years before they get another job they hate.
It's time to end the madness!
