Someone once told me that filmmaker Michael Moore once said that Americans are "the dumbest people on earth." Ok, I agree, but why the urge to prove it all the time?

Bloomberg Gives... but not to you and me

So Mayor Bloomberg and his 17 BILLION dollars wants to close schools and "tighten the fiscal belt" in New York, when he has enough money to take care of the problem himself. Well, what is he doing with all that money anyway? Why.... investing it... IN OTHER CITIES!! Don't you just love the guy?

On of my few heroes is army officer BRIAN MANNING, a young officer with the balls to reveal the horrors that the US government has committed during the Obama years. He's been locked away and psychologically tortured since. Finally, some great men, including Bishop Desmond Tutu (I know he's a Catholic, but I say, "hate the religion, not the religious,")

How conservatives Think

This article from CNN talks about Higher education spending vs prison spending, but the idea is the same. Like higher education costs, conservatives want to cut welfare... either directly or by doing something stupid like making welfare recipients pay for their own drug testing. So what happens? The citizens quit welfare, turn to crime, go to jail where the cost is $50,000 a year-- more than twice what welfare would have given them. Makes sense, doesn't it?

Katha Pollitt, in a recent column in THE NATION, unintentionally gives all the reasons progressives SHOULD abandon Obama. As for me, there's no way in HELL I'm gonna vote for him. Ron Paul, well, he's a nut, but a half-right nut. I wouldn't want him to be president. Are you kidding? I have a rent-stabilized apartment! Why Bother Voting, They'll Do It For You

With the Republicans in several states taking the vote away from the poor by bringing back the Poll Tax. (They do it by requiring Photo ID to vote. The only acceptable ID is state issued--- you guessed it-- you have to pay for it!) There are plenty of new ways to steal elections. To be fair, it's not only the Republicans who do the stealing... only MOSTLY the Republicans.

Hate Government Use Government

The Tea Baggers say they hate the government and want to take money out of the pockets of the poor and put it into the pockets of the rich. But wait? They don't quite look in the mirror for those who get government funds.

Why help old people... or the sick when you can buy wine?

Greed is in again. The rich don't want to pay more taxes than the poor. Corporations don't want to pay ANY taxes. Republicans call for the gutting of Medicare and Medicaid... puts more in their pocket. Now, some bankers and hedge fund managers are being indicted. Think they'll be convicted? Yeah, right. Not if they shell out for the wine!
